A place of prayer dedicated to St. George stands in Kvemo Shuakhevi. In these parts a salotsavi is usually small: a niche, a modest structure or a marked spot to which the village comes on a feast day.
The area lies in the foothills, where the roads from Dusheti fan out into side gorges. Neighbours are close at hand: at Mchadijvari stands the church of the Archangels, at Zemo Kodistskaro the ruins of the church of St. Barbara and a church of St. George, and a little further the church of St. George by the tower of Petre. Dusheti is about twelve kilometres away, Kaspi seventeen.
The approach is a mountain one, the last kilometres unpaved, and in rain the car is better left below. On the spot it is customary to keep quiet, to take nothing away and to leave what others have placed untouched. Candles are left right on the spot.
