Gorijvari stands on a hill about a kilometre from Dzalisi village in Dusheti Municipality. It is a hall with an annexe along its southern side, both volumes laid of brick and cobble. The vaulted roofs of the church and the annexe have collapsed and the tops of the walls are lost as well.
The entrance leads in from the south through the annexe: the door is arched outside and rectangular within. A wide tall arched window with a straight lintel inside is cut on the axis of the semicircular apse, windows of the same kind sit in the north and south walls, and an arched niche is made on either side of the apse window.
The annexe has entrances of its own, on the south, east and north, and one window, arched outside and rectangular within. Parts of the masonry of both vault arches survive in the church. The facades are entirely of brick, and the top of the window was decorated with a lozenge formed by a recess in the masonry, its lower half still in place.
