The church ruins in the Tanakhlo locality lie near Patara Darbazi village in Bolnisi Municipality. The hall is laid of rubble stone on a base, the entrance is rectangular and on the west side, an arched window is cut in the same wall and one more in the east wall.
A semicircular apse is separated by a side wall and ends in a conch, with a rectangular niche made in each of the north and south walls of the sanctuary. The vault of the church rested directly on the walls and has now collapsed entirely.
Two details make these ruins special. Four clay vessels are set into the base of the conch, working as resonators to improve the sound of the singing. And a baptismal font stands in the arched niche of the north sanctuary wall. A late medieval cemetery lies around the church.
