The Green church stands in the valley of a right tributary of the Poladauri, on the right bank, about a kilometre northeast of Shermazana village. It is a hall with north and south aisles and gates on the west and south, the church is active, and it was restored in the mid two thousands.
According to the researcher K. Abashidze, three building stages can be told apart. Very little survives of the early medieval one. The main carving belongs to the 8th and 9th centuries. And the additions and the murals are dated to the 13th and 14th centuries.
The building of about ten metres by seven is laid of undressed sandstone and basalt of varying size on lime mortar, with single stones going into the capitals and arches. The church most likely stood on a low plinth, now out of sight. There are three entrances, the south and west doors dressed with an architrave outside and an arch within, while the north one was evidently cut later.
