A church of the Mother of God in Didi Toneti. Marian dedications are the second most frequent in Georgian villages after Saint George, and their chief day, Mariamoba, falls at the end of August.
This church closes the group of four shrines of Didi Toneti. It stands between the northern Holy Trinity church and the southern pair, closer to the first: a little over a kilometre to the Holy Trinity, about a kilometre and a half to the kviratskhoveli, and almost two to the Sioni.
The village is drawn out, and all four churches are worth an hour with a car. The rules are those of any working church: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, and a headscarf is useful for women.
