The parish of Patara Chailuri is the other half of the pair: patara means small, and this village is smaller than neighbouring Didi Chailuri about a kilometre and a half to the west.
Both churches are dedicated to the Virgin, so they can only be told apart by the name of the village, and this is exactly the case where a pair of toponyms works instead of a qualifying word. The villages lie west of Cheremi, which holds about eight church buildings, so the surroundings deserve a route of their own.
A village church may keep no fixed schedule; service times are learned on site. Dress with shoulders and knees covered, a headscarf for women, and speak quietly on the grounds.
