The church dedicated to Saint George stands in the Vedziskhevi quarter on the edge of Shilda. Within the village this is already the third church site, counting Orsakdrebi and the ruins of the Marian church.
Shilda is one of the larger villages of Kvareli Municipality, stretched along the foot of the Caucasus range. Quarter names here often become church names, which is why the church is known as Vedziskhevi. A short road leads from the village to the mountain gorges and to the road to Kvareli.
Photography inside is best agreed with whoever looks after the church. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.
Tips
- Leave spare time for the climb.
- In summer bring a hat, as there is almost no shade.

Getting there
- Leave the car at the nearest street and continue on foot.
- Navigate by the coordinates, as there may be no signs on the approach.
