The church of Saint Tevdore stands in Atsquri, the second in the village after the Tetri Giorgi church about three hundred metres away. Saint Tevdore, that is Theodore, is venerated in Georgia as a soldier martyr.
The caveat about the village name repeats here as well: this is the Atsquri of the Akhmeta municipality, not the village of the same name in Samtskhe-Javakheti known for its fortress and miraculous icon. The neighbouring Tetri Giorgi church, the White George, is the most visited place in this area.
A village church may keep no fixed schedule; service times are learned on site. The two sites are easily seen in turn. Dress with shoulders and knees covered, a headscarf for women.
