The church of St. George stands in Patardzeuli and carries the name of the village in its own title. George is the commonest patron of Kakheti churches, and in large villages his name is often repeated several times, for different quarters and tracts.
The village lies on the plain at the foot of the Gombori range, eight kilometres from Sagarejo. The salotsavi of St. George stands about seven hundred metres away, a church of the same dedication bearing the name Dreidzi two kilometres, the church of Shio three. The Trinity monastery of Katsareti near Khashmi rises almost four kilometres off.
Of the three shrines of St. George in the village this one is closest to the inhabited part and the easiest to reach. The usual rules: covered shoulders and knees, a headscarf for women, quiet inside. On the ground follow the coordinates, for the neighbours look alike.
