The Kvelatsminda church on the north-eastern edge of Kakabeti is another church of a village generous with churches. Kvelatsminda means All Saints in Georgian: an old collective dedication already met at Kistauri, and the Kakabeti church continues the tradition.
The church stands on a dirt track beyond the village street, far from the highway bustle: a place for those making the round of the Kakabeti churches in earnest rather than in passing: from the highway this church is not visible at all. From here the Annunciation and Trinity churches in the north-west are a quarter of an hourโs walk away.
The church is seen freely, with ordinary rural courtesy: a quiet voice, modest dress, respect for the yards and the vegetable plots along the road. The dirt road is passable in dry weather.
