The Annunciation church in the north-western part of Kakabeti is another church of the village, close to the Kavta road. The full dedication, the Annunciation of the Most Holy Mother of God, sounds solemn, while the church itself lives a calm village life: services, neighbours, patronal days.
The Trinity church stands next door, and the north-western corner of Kakabeti gets a pair of its own: two churches a couple of minutes apart, from where the road runs on into the hills to the Kavta churches, a quarter of an hour of climbing away.
One enters freely, with the usual courtesy of a working church: modest dress, a quiet voice, respect for a service. The April feast of the Annunciation is this churchโs chief day.
