The Kavta St. George church is another church of the Kavta hill north of Kakabeti, some thirty metres from the Mother of God church. The pair shares one clearing and one view over the valley, and the St. George church in this duet is the younger voice beside the elder neighbour.
Seeing them separately is impossible even if you tried, and therein lies the charm of the place: one climb, two churches and the Kakhetian valley below. A rare case where one more church is thirty steps away, not thirty kilometres, as is usually the case in these hills.
One enters freely, with ordinary courtesy: a quiet voice and modest dress. The hill is windy even in summer: a light jacket will not go amiss. It is worth lingering at the top: the view repays it.
