Khvedela is the local name by which the church is known in Tsedisi. Its origin cannot be uncovered: such names usually attach themselves to a church through a locality, a family or a long-forgotten event, and we will not decode them by guesswork.
The value of the place is that it brings the Tsedisi set up to four: Kviratskhoveli, the Lomisi church, the ruins of the fortress church and this one. Add the Marian church of neighbouring Bnavisi a couple of hundred metres away. Five buildings on a patch of land at the foot of the ridge: a scale hard to imagine until you see it.
The church stands in the southern part of Tsedisi. No dating has become attached to it and there are no explanatory signs. Dress soberly and treat the walls with care.
