The niche of St. George stands at Sarki near Tsedisi village in the west of Shida Kartli. Nishi in Georgian means a wayside shrine: people stop here to light a candle on the way.
Tsedisi lies west of Gori, right at the mouth of the Ateni gorge. The village has other shrines as well: a Kviratskhoveli church, a church by the Tsedisi fortress and the Khvedela church.
The shrine can be approached at any time. Candles and modest offerings are left here, and gifts of others are not touched.
