The church of the Mother of God stands in the southern part of the Tkhinala area. The dedication is known, while no name of its own has stayed with the church.
The area lies on the uplands south of Gori, away from the main roads. A shrine of St. Barbara stands a few hundred steps away, and the ruins of another church of the Virgin of the same area lie three kilometres to the north.
Regular services may not be held, and the church can be approached at any time. The roads here are unpaved, so dry weather makes the drive easier.
