The church of the Mother of God stands in Tirdznisi, a village of Gori Municipality. The parish is a living one, the church is well kept, and in the district it is among the most noticeable.
Tirdznisi lies north-west of Gori, in the border strip along the dividing line. It is about three kilometres from here to neighbouring Tkviavi with its own Mother of God church, and the two are convenient to see on a single trip.
It is worth asking about the timing of a visit in advance: this is border country, and the route is best planned with some slack. Inside the usual etiquette applies, covered shoulders and knees.
