The church is dedicated to Saint Barbara, called Barbare in Georgia. The dedication is named outright and the church carries no other qualifiers.
Kordi lies in Shida Kartli rather than Kvemo Kartli: this is a Gori district village in the foothills north-west of Gori, little more than a kilometre from Karbi with its two churches. The neighbourhood is a border one, and the three villages of this part, Kordi, Karbi and Bershueti, make up a single trip.
There is no fixed schedule of services, but the site can be approached at any time. The rules are those of any working church: covered shoulders and knees, quiet. It makes sense to plan the route from Gori and to check road conditions before setting out: they change noticeably from season to season.
