The church of the Dormition of the Virgin stands in the surroundings of Kvelaantubani village in the west of Shida Kartli. Part of the records mark it as ruins, so the condition is worth checking on the spot.
The area lies on the uplands south of the Kura valley, away from the main roads. The St. George church of Kvelaantubani stands a kilometre away, and the village church of Gagluantubani a couple of kilometres off.
