The church is dedicated to Kviratskhovloba, the first Sunday after Easter, and stands in Gagluantubani in the west of Shida Kartli. Part of the records list the spot as a naeklesiari, the site of a former church.
The area is also known under the name Zemo Boshuri. Two kilometres away, in Boshuri, stands another church of the same dedication, so names repeat across these hills.
Regular services may not be held, and the church can be approached at any time. The roads here are unpaved, so dry weather makes the drive easier.
