The church of Saint George at Tontio stands in Kaurma village in Ninotsminda Municipality and is listed in the national category. The exact year is knowns of construction as well: 1023 and 1027. The hall is laid of smooth pink ashlars, and that warm tone of the stone catches the eye at once.
The entrance is on the south side: outside the door is dressed with an architrave, inside with an arched opening. Only the arched windows of the east and west walls give the light, and the surrounds are profiled and pointed. The stone slab roof has not survived.
On the east a semicircular apse is separated from the hall by side walls, rectangular niches flank its window, and the vault rests on an arch thrown above profiled capitals. A pair of pilasters divides the hall with a pointed arch above their capitals, an arch of the same kind stands on corbels at the corners of the west wall, and the floor is laid with stone slabs. The chief ornament is the double surround of the west opening with colonnettes and plant ornament.
