The chapel belongs to the Armenian community of Orojolari. It carries no dedication, which is usual for the small chapels of the plateau: they were raised as a prayer place for a quarter rather than as a parish church.
Orojolari lies on the Javakheti plateau, four kilometres from Ninotsminda, at a height where winter is long and trees are almost absent. The village is multi confessional: about a kilometre away stand the ruins of an Orthodox church. In this part of Javakheti the neighbourhood of Armenian and Georgian shrines is an ordinary thing.
The chapel is small and not always open, but it can be seen from outside. The rules of a visit are those of any church: modest dress, quiet, nothing moved. In winter the road across the plateau can be hard, and the warmer months are the better time to come.
