The St. George church site near Rustavi village is the place of an old church on the western edge of Aspindza Municipality. The village should not be confused with the big city: this Rustavi is a small Samtskhe settlement near Dzveli, a namesake of the industrial city in Kvemo Kartli.
The naeklesiari keeps only the place and the dedication: a church of St. George once stood here, and the place on the slope still carries its name, though nothing of the building survives. A calm stop for those collecting the traces of vanished churches across Samtskhe: such places in the municipality add up to a whole day of unhurried driving.
The place is open and can be approached at any time: there are no services here. The slope asks the traveller’s usual care: stones are not moved and no traces are left.
