A two-church basilica is one where two temple halls are joined under a common roof. This plan is uncommon in Georgian architecture, and the building in Sakire remains a clear example of it.
The village lies in the mountains of Borjomi Municipality, southwest of the resort. The road here runs through forest, and a kilometre and a half away stands the Giorgitsminda church.
Getting inside is not always possible, yet walking around the basilica is free. Dry weather is easier: the approach is unpaved.
