The Roketi church site is another church in the field by Atskvita, a couple of hundred metres from the church of the Rokiti settlement. The names of the neighbouring churches differ by a single letter, and before you is the second one: the trace of a church of which only the place, the field and a name on the local map remain.
The pair of Rokiti and Roketi is a ready half-hour route across a field with two layers of memory: there the church outlived the village, here only the foundation of the church remains. For lovers of thoughtful walks in Javakheti the combination is rare and complete: two names, one field and two churches with different fates.
The place is open and can be approached at any time: there are no services here. The traces of old masonry need care: stones are not moved and the foundation is not walked upon. The field road is passable in dry weather; after rain it is better to walk.
