The Dadeshi Old Church is the elder of the two churches with this name, halfway between the villages of Kuntsa and Erkota. The place is entirely quiet: slopes above the Mtkvari valley, the wind and no tourist flows at all. The walls keep the marks of a long age, and they are best read unhurriedly, walking the church around.
The sense of the visit lies in the pair itself: first the old church, then its younger neighbour by Kuntsa, and the ten minutes of road between them turn into a small journey through the continuity of the village churches of Samtskhe. The last stretch is on foot, which only adds to the experience: the path, the slope and the valley below set the right mood.
The church is seen freely, at any time: there are no regular services here. The old masonry needs care, and the slope path asks for a careful step.
