The Dadeshi church near Kuntsa village is a church on the slopes west of Aspindza, above the Mtkvari valley. Two neighbouring churches carry the name Dadeshi here: this one and the old church slightly west, between Kuntsa and Erkota, so a traveller gets a small route under one name.
The slopes above the Mtkvari in this part of Samtskhe are a land of terraces, flocks and far views over the Javakheti upland. The Dadeshi churches stand in this landscape as its natural part, and the pairing of stone and open space is what the turn is worth making for. The second half of the pair, the old church, waits a quarter of an hour away on foot.
The church is seen freely, with the ordinary courtesy of rural places: a quiet voice, respect for the yards and pastures. After rain the slopes are slippery: pick a dry day.
