The church site of the vanished village of Churchuto is a place on the slopes south of Kikineti, where of the settlement only the name remains and of the church the place. One more line in the long Samtskhe list of nasoplari: villages that departed, leaving behind only a church or its trace.

A slope, grass, distant hills and the name Churchuto, which now lives only in the memory of the area. Paired with the working church of Kikineti it makes a short study of the living and the departed: two neighbouring slopes, two very different fates. The climb from the road takes some fifteen minutes.

The place is open and can be approached at any time: there are no services here. The slope asks the travellerโ€™s usual care: stones are not moved and no traces are left. The grass here is tall: closed shoes will come in handy.
