Lake Didgalish Toba is located on the Egrisi ridge, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, at an elevation of 2,700 metres. It's one of the high-mountain "Toba family" lakes, sitting right next to the main lake, Tobavarchkhili, as well as Kaliashi and Tsakatskarish Toba.
Didgalish Toba is a small lake, notably blue in colour, surrounded by rocky slopes. It's one of the lakes visited during the so-called "day of the lakes" on the classic route: hikers climb from the Tobavarchkhili base camp over the northeastern ridge and descend to the water.
According to reviews, the walk to this lake takes about 5 hours from the nearest point on the route. The elevation is worth bearing in mind: at 2,700 metres, mild breathlessness is possible, especially without prior acclimatisation, so it's worth not rushing the final hours of the climb. In winter and the shoulder seasons, the lake's surface can partially freeze.
