Lake Tsakatskarish Toba is located on the Egrisi ridge, on the southern side of the Samsari massif, in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, at an elevation of about 2,580 metres. It's one of the "Toba family" lakes, sitting right next to Tobavarchkhili, with the neighbouring Kaliashi Toba just about 200 metres to the north.
The water is a vivid blue, though some observers describe the shade as turquoise or even unusually iridescent. A distinctive feature of this lake, independently reported by many visitors: there's no official trail down to the water itself. Nearly all hikers view the lake from an overlook pass above it, taking in the panorama of alpine meadows and surrounding peaks without descending to the shore. The climb to the pass takes some effort, but by general consensus, the view is worth it.
Another unusual detail: a patch of snow persists near the lake even in early August, underscoring the site's high-altitude character. When planning the route, factor in time to reach the pass and keep in mind there's no trail further down to the water: this is more of a viewpoint than a lakeside stroll.
