The church is known by a single word and no second name stands behind it. Unlike its neighbours, where a dedication surfaces at least in conversation, here even that has not survived: only the word church and the name of the village remain.
Bostana lies six kilometres from Ambrolauri, in the wide settled part of the Racha valley. Neighbours are many around: the painted church of Bugeuli stands about a kilometre and a half away, the sakdari of the Saviour at Znakva two and a half, the place of the Virgin at Kldisubani three, the church of St. George of Tsikhe three and a half.
The road is easy and passable all year, and the village sits near the highway. The building is viewed from outside and the old masonry asks for care. Dress modestly, keep quiet inside, move nothing. The valley here is wine country and the villages stand close together.
