The sakdari is dedicated to the Saviour and bears the name Jvarisa. Its first word goes back to jvari, a cross: such names in Georgia belonged to places where a wayside cross stood, and often outlived the building itself.

Znakva lies four kilometres from Khvanchkara, in the wine growing part of the Racha valley. The nameless church of the same village stands about a kilometre away, the painted church of Bugeuli two, the church of Kedisubani two and a half, the church of Bostana two and a half.

The road here is easy, the valley wide and settled. A sakdari is rarely locked and can be approached at any hour. Candles are left where they stand and are not moved; dress modestly and keep voices low. The village is small and its shrines are walked in an hour, the road from Khvanchkara short.
