A prayer place of Saint Sophia at the western edge of Avranlo. In the Orthodox tradition Sophia is honoured together with her daughters, Faith, Hope and Love, and her name is often borne by small village shrines.
Neighbours here are many and all close: the church of Saint Mary at a hundred and forty metres, the Thomas church at a hundred and fifty, the prayer place of Saint Demetre at two hundred and fifty. This is the densest corner of the village.
The western part of Avranlo can be walked in about ten minutes. The prayer places keep no order of their own and can be approached at any time; keep to the usual restraint.
