The Ascension chapel stands on the edge of Avranlo, by the old bridge on the right bank of the Ktsia river. The building is small, with a flat apse on the east side, a tiled roof and a light fence around it.
Several old stones are gathered inside at once: a stone cross is set into the base, an altar stone with a cross stands beside it, and two more stone crosses are kept in the apse. That is an unusual number for so small a building.
Sources assign the chapel to the nineteen eighties. Avranlo holds about a dozen such samlotsvelo, nearly all built by the villagers in the late twentieth century, each dedicated to its own saint.
