A church dedicated to Saint George in the village of Mashavera. The village is named after the river that gave its name to the whole valley here: the Mashavera runs from the Dmanisi mountains towards Bolnisi and gathers most of the villages of the area around it.
The church has many close neighbours. The Vardisubani monastery stands about six hundred metres away, the Dmanisi site with the Zemoubani church two kilometres off, and the Didi Kviratskhoveli naeklesiari a little further.
The area is a dense one, and three or four shrines fit into a single trip here. In the working church the usual rules apply: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, and a headscarf for women.
