With this church begins the Kvemo Kartli part of the catalogue, and the character of the material here is noticeably different from Kakheti: toponyms take the place of dedications more and more often, and village names sound now Greek, now Turkic. This church is known as that of the Seven Brothers, and what lies behind the name local tradition does not explain.
Sakdrioni lies east of Tsalka, on the high plateau of Kvemo Kartli, where winters are colder and snow lies longer than in the Kakhetian valleys. The name of the village itself comes from the word sakdari, meaning a church, and it lives up to it: four churches stand here, all within six hundred metres.
There is no fixed schedule of services and the site can be approached at any time. The four churches can be walked in half an hour, which makes Sakdrioni the most compact church cluster of the Kvemo Kartli part. The roads on the plateau are open and windy, and in winter they can drift over.
