The church of the Virgin Mary stands south of Nardevani village in Tsalka Municipality, at the foot of the cyclopean fortress. In eighteen sixty the Armenian population of the village rebuilt it from an older Georgian church, and traces of both periods can be read in the building at once.
The building is laid of well worked stone ashlars. A shelf like cornice finishes the west facade while the other facades were given a toothed one, and a single Asomtavruli letter survives on three stones of the east cornice, left over from the earlier church.
Inside there are three naves divided by two pairs of columns round in plan, with capitals dressed in relief. The apse is fluted, the interior is whitewashed, and the entrance on the west is framed by an architrave. Three windows are set in the south wall and one each in the east and west, the roof is of sheet metal, and the church is fenced and active.
