An Ascension naeklesiari near Bareti. A naeklesiari is a place where a church once stood: the building is gone, while the memory of it and of its dedication is held in the name of the place itself. The feast is named here both in Georgian and in Greek, as is usual in these villages.
The place stands apart, about three kilometres from the main group of the Bareti shrines. Closest to it are the four churches of Livadi: the prayer place of Saint Sophia a kilometre away, then Saint Barbare, Saint Catherine and the church of Saint Panteleimon.
No services are held here and people come as to a place of memory. Treat it with care: do not move the stones and remember that for the village it is still a shrine.
