The chapel of St Sabbas stands by a namosakhlari, the site of an ancient settlement. The word is not the same as nasoplari: a nasoplari is a village abandoned within living memory, while a namosakhlari points to a far earlier settlement of which only traces in the ground remain.
The place lies near Bareti, north-east of Tsalka. Bareti is the richest of the local villages in shrines, and this chapel is already its tenth: there are churches of Peter and Paul, of the Holy Cross and of the Forty Martyrs, chapels of St Barbara and St Demetre, and other places.
There are no regular services here and people come freely. The ground around keeps traces of the old settlement, and digging or moving stones is not the thing to do.
