The church is dedicated to Saint Panteleimon, a physician and healer: people pray to him for health, and hospital chapels often bear his name. In a village church such a dedication is less common than in a town.
Livadi lies on the Tsalka upland, north east of Tsalka. Besides this church the village holds three small prayer places, samlotsvelos: of Saint Catherine, of Saint Sophia and the site of a former church of Saint Barbare. The nearest is two hundred metres away, the furthest seven hundred.
All four shrines of the village can be walked in a single stroll, and that is the best way to see Livadi as a whole. The usual rules apply: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, and a headscarf for women.
