The church is dedicated to the Archangel, and that is the only thing known about it for certain. It stands not in a village but right by the road, between Kolagi and Chalaubani, so it is customarily given by the road rather than by a street.
The setting is flat, on the Kakheti highway running from Gurjaani towards Tsnori and Sighnaghi, among vineyards and fields. The nearest sanctuary, the Saint George church in Kolagi, stands less than a kilometre away, and two and a half kilometres to the north is the Saint Mary church of the same village.
There are no regular services here and the church is usually locked, but the yard is open. The place needs no separate trip: it lies right on the highway and a stop takes a few minutes. The turn is short but the verge is narrow, so it is better to pull over well away from the bend.
