The church of the Saviour stands at Akhateli in Telavi Municipality. The hall is laid of cobble and brick on a foundation, with all the finer parts carried out in brick: the door and window openings, the pilasters and the vault. The entrance is on the west.
A semicircular apse is separated from the hall by a side wall with an arched niche made in its north face, and no further details of the sanctuary can be established. A pair of pilasters divided the hall with the arch of the vault running above them, and an arched window is cut at the middle of the north wall.
A gate structure was later added to the church on the west, also of cobble with brick at the corners. Its entrance is on the west: the opening is arched outside and rectangular within, the passage from the gate into the church is arched too, and an arched niche is made in the south pilaster behind that passage. The building is partly ruined and buried in debris.
