A parish church of Saint Nicholas, one of several holy places in the Ruispiri area. Saint Nicholas is an everyday and close patron here: travellers, householders on the road and anyone in need of swift help turn to him.

Ruispiri lies in the Alazani valley north-west of Telavi, among vineyards, and is better known in wine circles than in tourist ones: the local qvevri and family marani produce wines found far beyond Kakheti. Besides the Saint Nicholas church the area holds three more: Mamadaviti and the church of Saint Tevdore in the village itself, and a hall church of the Mother of God by neighbouring Karajala. The century of building is not established.

The parish is active and services follow the church year. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf. A visit is easy to combine with a tasting at a family marani, which is what Ruispiri is known for.
