A parish church of Saint George, the only one in the village. The dedication is the commonest in the country: the saint is honoured twice a year and the folk calendar is built around his memory.
Drbo is a small village in eastern Imereti, in the same hilly belt as Darka and Speti. Little is known about the church: the dedication, the type and the fact that it is in use. Neither a century of building nor any architectural detail has survived, and we will not invent them.
There are no regular services, so a Sunday morning is the surer time to come. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf. The roads in this belt are unpaved, and in wet weather a dry day is the better choice.
