Georgia sets fees on LPG and coal re-export and transit from 1 November

The Revenue Service of Georgia says that from 1 November 2026 a fee of GEL 90 per tonne applies to liquefied gas cleared for re-export or transit. For coal the fee is GEL 40 per tonne. It is a processing fee for transit and re-export, not a duty on all imports.

Exemptions apply with an EUR.1 preferential origin certificate or an origin declaration, and when goods move solely by rail or sea, or by pipeline in the case of gas. The fee does not cover gas and coal brought into Georgia's customs territory before 1 November 2026. It must be paid no later than the goods leave the customs territory.
