The church stands at Gola near Mitsobi village in the west of Shida Kartli. Sakdari is the folk word for a church, and that is how the building is known locally.
Mitsobi lies north of Khashuri, in the hills above the Kura valley. A Kviratskhoveli church of the same village stands a kilometre to the north, and the church of the Virgin at Nadarbazevi is to the east in Tsromi.
Regular services may not be held, and the church can be approached at any time. Modest clothing is appropriate, and the old walls deserve careful treatment.
