A small St. George chapel stands in Didi Khavleti village in the west of Shida Kartli. Didi means large in Georgian: that is how the village is told apart from neighbouring Patara Khavleti.
The area lies north of Khashuri, in the hills above the Mtkvari valley. The road here climbs from the plain along the stream valleys.
Access is free at any time. Modest clothing is appropriate, and candles and offerings are left in their places.
