The church of St. George stands in Didi Keleti village in the west of Shida Kartli. Didi in Georgian means big, which is how the village is told apart from neighbouring Patara Keleti.
The area lies in the hills between Khashuri and Kareli, on the boundary of the two districts. The village also has the Laghijvari church, and a chapel of St. George stands a kilometre and a half away in Didi Khavleti.
Regular services may not be held, and the church can be approached at any time. Modest clothing is appropriate, and candles and offerings are left in their places.
