The church of Michael the Archangel stands in Dviri, a village of the Borjomi gorge on the road between Borjomi and Akhaltsikhe. The Kura runs here through a narrow wooded valley, and the villages stretch along the highway.
A kilometre from the church, at the edge of the same village, stands the Bornighele church of St. George, so Dviri has two shrines at once. Further along the gorge, by Atskuri, rises the historic cathedral with a fortress on the rock.
It is convenient to stop here on the way between Borjomi and Akhaltsikhe. Follow the coordinates; in the church keep quiet and dress modestly.
