The church dedicated to Saint George stands in the northern part of Kvabiskhevi, about half a kilometre from the church of the same dedication in the village centre. The village name is made of the words kvabi, cave, and khevi, gorge.
Kvabiskhevi is part of Borjomi Municipality and lies in the Kura gorge south of the resort. The coniferous slopes around belong to the Borjomi resort zone known for its mineral waters. The road to Akhaltsikhe and further into Javakheti passes through the village.
Photography inside is best agreed with whoever looks after the church. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.
