The Armenian church in Khorenia village in Akhalkalaki Municipality was built in 1996, as an Armenian inscription on the church itself records. It is one of the newest buildings on our whole list.
The building is domed with an elongated west wing carrying a bell tower. A second bell tower was raised on the south side and holds tombs.
The same village holds a small church of the 13th and 14th centuries, a monument of the national category, and the Karneti chapel lies nearby in the Paravnistskali gorge. Almost a thousand years separate the three churches of one village, and they can be covered on a single walk.
